QUESTIONS for all you Post-Band Ladies!!

1. Hiccups? Do you get them? if so, do they hurt? I seem to get hiccups more than "normal".

2. (This one is really personal!) BM's (bowel movements) - are they normal or are you projectile? I have IBS, another symptom of the Fibromyalgia, and I would love for that to go away!

3. Is there anything you CAN'T do, that you could before?

I know that there are more, but that is all I can think of for now.....thanks!!

  1. Hiccups could hurt for the first week or so. Beyond that- I doubt it will hurt.
My BMs are much smaller and less often.
I can't eat fried chicken. Or feel comfortable in some yoga poses that push into the mat. Thats it.

  2. I've always had hiccups. I have daytime apnea and forgot to breathe. The surgery didn't change that at all.

My BM's definitely changed after surgery. I was constipated for ages afterwards. Even now it's, um, very inconsistent. But 2+ years after surgery it's just now starting to be more regular. I think every body is different.

There's a bazillion things I can't eat now (after surgery) that I could before. Pizza. Bread. Pasta of any kind. No more chugging beverages of any kind, and definitely not cold beverages. Carbonated beverages give me problems. Acidic foods (citrus) give me problems. Lots of alcohol gives me bad heartburn. I could go on and on.

But as for general life-stuff and physical activities: no! I can do MORE now than I could before. The world is my oyster. I can't even tell you all the things I can do MORE of now! It's awesome.

  3. I was veryyy constipated after surgery. even now ive been paying attention to them and realize that i have to take extra fiber usually to go go. the first week after surgery it didnt have any consistency so every time i felt the need to pass gas, i had to be in the bathroom. it was pretty terrible. :(
